چکیده

This study assesses the possibility of obtaining regenerated cellulose products (beads and films) from eucalyptus sawdust dissolving pulps produced by non-conventional processes, compared with a commercial pulp as reference. Eucalyptus were obtained soda pulping followed two TCF sequential bleaching processes OOpZ, OOp, cold extraction. The characterization involved alpha-, beta- gamma-cellulose content, alkali solubility 10 wt% (S10), 18 NaOH (S18) aqueous solutions, degree polymerization. Fock´s method was used to measure reactivity in 9 solution at − 5 °C evaluate capacity. Dissolving presented high content (> 93%, expressed α-cellulose) good (almost 8%). adequate raw materials for dissolution methods: direct NaOH/urea carbamate solution. sequence OOpE (where E is an alkaline extraction) more economically feasible straightforward produce than OOpZE. experimental showed expected characteristics obtain products. However, it necessary deepen producing films enhanced mechanical properties pulps, solvents, coagulation, regeneration conditions.

Dissolving Pulp (alpha-cellulose) from Corn Stalk by Kraft Process

Corn stalk can be used as an alternative non-wood raw material to produce cellulosic dissolving grade pulp. In this work, the potential of corn stalk in the production of dissolving pulp (alpha-cellulose) was investigated. It was collect ed from a corn stalk farm of Kermanshah, Iran. The sequences of experimental work were: water and acid prehydrolysis at 160˚C for 30min, followed by Kraft pulp...

Dissolving Pulp Production from Bamboo

Commercial bamboo chips were evaluated as raw material for dissolving pulp production. The chips were auto-hydrolyzed (AH) and subsequently cooked by the NaOH/AQ process and bleached to full brightness with the O-CCE-D-(EP)-D-P sequence. The term CCE designates a cold caustic extraction stage. The bamboo chip chemistry (22.4% lignin, 19.5% xylans, 49.3% cellulose, 16.8% total extractives, and 1...

Regenerated cellulose for controlled oral drug delivery

The performance of regenerated cellulose (RC) films and capsules was investigated for their applications in oral controlled drug delivery. Regenerated cellulose films were prepared by non-solvent-mediated, phase inversion of native and depolymerized cotton linter solutions (methylolcellulose; cellulose dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide/ paraformaldehyde solvent system) in water as well as by phas...

Preparation of Bamboo Dissolving Pulp for Textile Production. Part 1. Study on Prehydrolysis of Green Bamboo for Producing Dissolving Pulp

Prehydrolysis was used as the first treatment of bamboo materials for producing high dissolving pulp for textile applications. In this paper, green bamboo (Dendrocalamopsis oldhami) was hydrolyzed in water, and the hydrolysis process was optimized. The morphology and super-molecular structures of the raw material and prehydrolyzed material were studied by SEM and XRD, respectively. Based on the...

Acid hydrolysis of cellulosic fibres: Comparison of bleached kraft pulp, dissolving pulps and cotton textile cellulose.

The behaviour of different cellulosic fibres during acid hydrolysis has been investigated and the levelling-off degree of polymerisation (LODP) has been determined. The study included a bleached kraft pulp (both never-dried and once-dried) and two dissolving pulps (once-dried). Additionally, cotton cellulose from new cotton sheets and sheets discarded after long-time use was studied. Experiment...
